Clearing for a new build
Most wooded lots look very different once the brush is gone. Clearing the understory first shows you the real shape of the land: where the house can sit, where the view is, and which trees are worth building around.
That’s why we like to get in early. A surveyor can walk the lines, your builder can stake the house, and everyone can see what they’re working with before any plans get locked in.
What we clear
We clear building pads, yard space, driveway paths and access routes for septic and utility crews. Brush and small trees get mulched in place, so there’s no debris for your builder to work around and no pile to burn.
When a site needs some digging as well, we bring the mini excavator. If your project needs stumps pulled from under a foundation, or a graded pad, tell us early. That’s a different scope, and we’ll quote it separately so nothing surprises you.
Keeping the right trees
Shade trees are hard to replace. Before the machine starts, we’ll walk the lot with you and mark what stays. A little ribbon on the keepers goes a long way, and it’s far easier to clear around a tree than to wish you still had it.
Forestry mulching is also gentler on the ground around those trees than pushing everything out with a dozer.
Before we start
A few things help a lot clearing job go smoothly. Know where your property lines are, or have them staked. Call 811 so underground utilities get marked. Check with your builder and your township or county about anything they need before clearing starts, especially on steep ground or near a creek.
Jobs start at $2,500, which covers one full crew day. Send a plat, a pin on a map or a few photos, and we can usually tell you quickly what the job looks like.

Common questions
Will the lot be ready to build on when you’re done?
It will be open and accessible. Excavation, footers and final grading are your builder’s work, and we’ll coordinate with them on what they need from us.
Can you cut in a driveway path?
Yes. We clear the route so your driveway crew has a clean path. Tell us the width they need, and we’ll stake it out with you first.
Do I need a permit to clear my lot?
It depends on where the lot is and what you’re doing with it. Check with your township or county. Your builder will usually know what applies.
